The importance of the bees

The importance of bees in the life of the planet: a society between bees and flowers

Bees originated around 100 million years ago simultaneously with flowers.  From the co-evolution phenomenon or joint evolution of bees and plants, flowering plants (Angiosperms) and their pollinating agents (bees) were endowed with enormous adaptive advantages that allowed them to dominate the environment in modern times.

This process of co-evolution originated thousands of species of bees adapted to the flowers that provide their sustenance, with high levels of specialization, especially in solitary bees that collect on plant species in certain very specific cases.

But it reached its most perfect state in social bees and within these perhaps the best known is Apis melífera;  Thanks to a very efficient communication between the individuals that make up the colony, they achieve a very efficient flow of information to interact with the environment.
